Stephen French was appointed Chief Underwriting Officer in ACE Bermuda International's London branch office in March 2006 with a mandate to expand the growth of the operation along its core lines of business including property, excess liability and professional lines.

Mr. French previously served as Branch Manager and Property Underwriting Manager and was instrumented in the establishment of the London operation in 2000.

Mr. French, who has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, previously served as Senior Vice President in ACE’s International Representative Office in London. He joined ACE in 1995 from Chubb Insurance Company of Europe where he held the position of UK Manager of domestic and international property business. He previously held positions at American International Underwriters, Gerling Konzern and Phoenix Assurance Company. Mr. French obtained his ACII in 1981.
