Allison Towlson
Regional Executive and Chief Operations Officer, ACE Bermuda
Allison Towlson was appointed Regional Executive and Chief Operations Officer in April 2010 with responsibility for underwriting operations and enhancing the efficiency of the day-to-day operations of the company. She maintains her previous role as Regional Executive with responsibility for client relationships, business development, and management of the underwriting services function.
Ms Towlson has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She joined ACE Bermuda in 1998 as Underwriter in the Excess Liability department rising to Vice President with responsibility for corporate reporting, training and development, and marketing. She was appointed Senior Vice President and Regional Executive in 2004.
Prior to joining ACE she spent seven years with Sedgwick Global Broking (Bermuda). As Assistant Vice President she handled casualty and D&O accounts, for Fortune 1000 clients. Previous work experience includes captive underwriting and claims administration with both Sedgwick Management Services (Bermuda) Ltd. and Alexander Insurance Managers (Bermuda) Ltd.
Ms Towlson is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and a Chartered Insurer and is currently a Mentor under the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies in Bermuda. She sits on the executive team of the Insurance Development Council (IDC) with responsibility for enhancing Bermuda's market presence. She is also a member of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurance (ABIR) working committee on contract certainty.
